On the corner of North Main and Washington. . .just a half block from us. . .there is a body shop that restores vintage cars. . .It is truly a treat each time he finishes one and parks it out front for sale. . .Most don't last long before someone purchases it and drives it away. . .Sometimes it will show up in the numerous car shows around here. . .or it may find a home far away. . .
But. . .the vintage cars are not the only thing I love about this place. . .The owner has left the old gas station pretty much as it was. . .with most of the original architectural details still in place. . .Just look at the tile trim on this old window. . .
What a photo opportunity. . .
But then. . .what would I expect living in Ste. Genevieve. . .where in many ways. . .time has stopped. . .and the past has merged with the present?
