Bolduc House Bedroom 2018 |
I love comparing photos of houses taken through the years, especially those that have survived time.
Hard to believe the Bolduc House is still standing after 230+ years. We are so fortunate that the Bolduc family lived in the ancestral home without too many changes until 1949 when they donated it to the Colonial Dames. Where I come from, historic buildings such as this were torn down decades ago.
Exterior shots are usually more plentiful, but in the HABS 1985 SURVEY OF THE BOLDUC HOUSE there are some pretty interesting interior shots. Most were taken before the 1950s, before and after the Dames took possession. I have also included some book scans, as well as my own photos.

Thank you for this history and photos. I have never seen all of these photos, although in some of the older books there are one or two. Do you think the Bolduc will become a part of the NPS?
Although there was some earlier negotiations between the Dames and the NPS, ss of this date, there are no longer any plans for the Bolduc to be donated to the NPS. The Dames have donated one house that will be used as the NPS headquarters.
