Beginning the Christmas Season With A Holiday Decorating Contest And A Festival

It's hard to believe it's been a year since we dressed up in our finest clothes (for the 18th century) and celebrated Christmas in Ste. Genevieve. . .I never shared those photos with you. . .so I thought I'd begin our Season with them. . .I'm putting up the wreaths for 2019. . .but I won't be able to finish decorating for a couple of weeks. . .I'll need to visit the banks of the Mississippi River for some naturals. . .or borrow from the farm. . .But. . .There will be plenty of decorating going on this week in Ste. Genevieve. . .There's a contest going on!

The Downtown Ste. Genevieve organization has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce for a Christmas Decorating Contest . . .Anyone can enter, as long as you live in the Downtown Historic District. . .There are three categories: Residences. . .Businesses and Not For Profits. . .and Historic Buildings. . .Decorations must be up by December 4th because everything will be judged that night and ribbons awarded. . .Forms must be turned in at the Welcome Center by 5:00 p.m. December 2.

For more information and forms, contact the Welcome Center at 573-883-7097

Don't forget that the Downtown Christmas Festival is December 7 and 8. . .There are many activities scheduled for young and old. . .A Christmas Parade, Le Reveillon, Choral Music at the Catholic Church, Open Houses, Christmas Music, Shopping, Eating. . .just to name a few. . .Last year was my first time to attend. . .It was a wonderful weekend. . .and it certainly started my Holiday Season with lots of cheer. . .

Mark your calendars. . .and bring that Christmas Spirit with You!
